Nevers to Bourbon - Lancy

The photo above is "Patty's parting shot" from the trip.  This was a Chateau near our guest rooms.  She was off to Paris this morning.

We were off to Bourbon Lancy.   Our luck finally came to an end and it was rained. We had light rain to start and then a downpour about mile 30.  When it ended, the sun came out.

We cycled through the Bourgogne area of France.  Sparsely populated and very pretty.

We had a little climbing today

Those finger like projections at the end of the day are rolling hills.  They hit just about the time we wanted to be done.

Those dots on the water are raindrops, the white things are swans

Cows are fun to see when cycling, the are very curious and watch you pass

I felt the terrain had a little of the feel of the driftless area in Southwestern Wisconsin.  It had the cows too.

a bread vending machine - very handy when you find out that the grocery store sandwich you bought for lunch really was terrible

We had a nice dinner at our Inn.  Rob and I were going to go out to pickup some pizzas we had ordered about 3/4 a mile away, when it started raining.  The owner, Michael was kind enough to give us a ride in his car.  We reciprocated by sharing our dinner with he and his wife, Isabella.

Our conversation took place using a lot of Google translate and drinking a lot of wine.  It was a fun experience.  We were joined by the dog Savana, the formage (cheese) loving dog.

Michael want to visit the US and ride his motorcycle on route 66.  He wants Rob to come with him on his Honda Goldwing.

Gallipoli

Today was a bonus day.  We decided to do a day trip to the Gallipoli Peninsula.  That is where an important WWI battle was fought in 1915.  ...
