Mühlheim an der Donau to Heiligkreuztal

What a day.  Another perfect riding day.  We only traveled 32 miles, but climbed over 1900 feet.  The terrain could be characterized as undulating.  The pace was relaxing.

Some of the climbs were steep, 13% or more, but it was all handled well.

Our ride was through farmland and small towns.  The roads were farmers paths, but they were concrete and wonderful to cycle along.

There was very little traffic along the roads.  The only company were the cows and an occasional farm implement.

We had lunch along the way  in Sigmaringen.  This was the local Castle (know as a Schloss).  It is amazing what you see along the way on these trips.   That is the Danube in the foreground.

Tonight we are staying in a Kloister (which was formerly a convent) and is now used as a hotel-retreat.  It is marvelously relaxing to have a beer in the garden.

Gallipoli

Today was a bonus day.  We decided to do a day trip to the Gallipoli Peninsula.  That is where an important WWI battle was fought in 1915.  ...
